The surroundings: Nature

The Camping is a mixture of farmland and coastal scenery, like the Camargue and Garrigue. A green landscape with plenty of grassland, bamboo, willows and tamarinds surrounded by the tough vegetation and beautiful pine-trees so typical of this coast. Situated along the Etang de Berre, a large salt-lake with an open connection to the Mediterranean, so you will notice a small difference in the tides. This Etang can be accessed via the side exit of the Camping and is suitable for all kinds of water-sports like sailing and windsurfing. At about 300 yards from the Camping is a small beach for sunbathing and swimming.
There are plenty walking opportunities in the surrounding hills, with beautiful views from the tops to the Etang at one side and the Mediterranean in the opposite direction. The vegetation of the hills is typical "garrigue", rough but always green, battling to survive against the sea and the sun. The Camping is situated at about 10 miles from the "Côte Bleue", the Mediterranean coast, between Marseille and Martigues. Typical for the area are the old fishing-ports, small bays with white beaches, surrounded by the rocky scenery.

 Étang de Berre
The coast in the opposite direction, from Fos to the Camargue is known for its endless beaches, wide enough to drive and park your car to sunbathe next to it.
