Where to find the Camping

Camping Felix de la Bastide is located in the hamlet of Massane, in the local authority of St. Mitre-les-Remparts, along the Etang de Berre, in "departement 13, les Bouches du Rhône", in the very south of France. Locate the Mediterranean on a map of France, and draw a imaginary line from Lyon, straight down to the coast and you will find the location of the Camping about 7 miles north of the coast between Marseille and the Camargue. The distance from Calais is about 650 miles, from Paris 460 miles and about 200 miles from Lyon.
By car: The Camping is easy to reach by car. The quickest route is by motorway, "le péage", wide and well maintained, from Calais to Paris and than South, direction Lyon. An alternative would be the many "routes-nationales", more time consuming, but a great opportunity to enjoy the scenery. Click here for the route planner.

Public Transport: By train from London Waterloo Station with the Euro Express to Paris and change over to the TGV to Marseille. By June 2001, journey times from Paris to Marseille will have been reduced to less than three hours. From Marseille to Martigues (about 7 miles from the Camping), you could use the local train service.

By Air: Many UK airports now provide direct flights to Marseille, (Marignane, Aeroport de Marseille) with a flight time of about 2 hours and from there it is only about 17 miles to the Camping. Local bus services are not very reliable but car rental firms are plenty-full and could be an option.
